The care cost guide
A GHK-Cu guide

Can insurance pay for any part?

Blank paper slips placed in separate groups beside a folded grey sheet and a green tab.
  • Ask about the visit

Give the plan the health professional’s name and the reason for the visit. Ask whether the visit can be covered even if a product is paid for separately.

  • Ask about each test

Get the test name from the health professional. Ask the plan which lab can do it under your benefits and what you would owe.

  • Ask about the exact product

Give its full name and say whether it is a cream, gel or injection. Ask whether the plan lists it, needs advance approval, or excludes that expense.

  • Keep the answer

Request a written reply and ask for a number that identifies your call or message. Keep that number, the reply and the service’s estimate together.

Do not skip straight from prescription to payment

Medicine approval comes from the US Food and Drug Administration, shortened to FDA.

As of September 2026, no GHK-Cu medicine has FDA approval.

For payment, ask your plan about the exact service or item being billed.

If the answer is no

Ask what part was declined: the visit, the test, the product or the stated reason for care. Ask whether there is a review process. Bring that answer back to the health professional before agreeing to an expense.

A note on the sources

This search checks medicine approval. Your insurance company’s written reply answers the separate question of what it will pay.
